And so another scouting year comes to an end and what a great year it’s been there have been adventures, new skills, fun and games.
Over half of the young people in the group have been away on camp for at least 1 night and many have been away for 6/7 night this year. Some even got to fall asleep listening to the sound of lions roaring in the safari park next door.
Youngsters have learned many #SkillsForLife from Mindfulness, Yoga & Fitness nights to Learning how to read maps, build shelters and make fire. Climbing, Orienteering, Hiking, Crafts, the list goes on and on.
We have remembered fallen heroes in the armed forces and helped switch on the Christmas tree in the village.
We have joined with other groups to sing songs in the woods and eaten more, pancakes, biscuits and sausages than you can possibly count.
But more importantly we have hopefully given the youngsters the change to experience fun and adventure in a safe and exciting programme through the year.
We look forward to doing so much more of this next year and we will be spending parts of the summer planning the programme for next year.
If any parents, relative, neighbours, friends etc would like to get involved, even for just a couple of evenings year it would make a huge difference to the activities we can provide.
Finally to those leaving us and moving on to Explorers, other scout groups or other activities, we wish you all well and hope you have enjoyed your time at 1st Dickens Heath Scout Group.
Have a great summer and see you in September.
